Day 2 EOTC

Due to the wet weather we didn't go to Tunnel Gully.
The brighter side we had a fun, action packed day at school. We built shelters, did an amazing race, team building and BP bridge challenge. We ending the afternoon by having a syndicate chant battle which Room 8 won with our awesome team work.
Hoping that tomorrow brings better weather for our Kaitoke day!

Day 1 EOTC- Matiu/Somes Island

Matiu/Somes Island

What a stunner of the day and just how we want the rest of the week to be.
We started the day boarding onto our bus and heading into Wellington. We had to board two different boats and set off to Matiu/Somes. The ferry trip was exciting and I am sure was a highlight for many.
Once arriving on the island we were welcomed and had to go into a hut to seek for any seeds or mud we had brought into the island. We then had morning tea, listened to Emma talk about the history of Matiu/Somes Island. Once finishing morning tea we started our adventures up a steep hill to the top of the island. We show a light house, went inside the visitors centre, gun emplacements from world world two, saw weta, skinks, seagulls eggs and some even show penguins when arrive on the island.
The was a success, the children had fun and experience on of Wellington's treasures. Bring on Day 2- Tunnel Gully.

Beautiful day at Matiu/Somes

We have some tired children on the bus home after walking around Matiu/Somes in the beaming sun.
